Who we are

Helping you navigate Horizon Europe with guidance, resources and expert support.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is the UK’s largest public funder of research and innovation. We invest in people, ideas and organisations across the UK to support world-class research, innovation and economic growth.

UKRI supports UK organisations to participate successfully in Horizon Europe through UKRI’s Horizon Europe team, which includes a team of UK Horizon Europe National Contact Points based at UKRI. UKRI works with partners across the research and innovation community, we help organisations understand the programme, build international collaborations and access Horizon Europe funding.

How we support you

Horizon Europe offers major opportunities for UK researchers, businesses and innovators to access funding, build international partnerships and collaborate on research and innovation. It can also feel complex, especially if you are new to the programme or unsure where your project fits.

We provide guidance and support throughout your Horizon Europe journey — from understanding where your project fits and finding relevant funding opportunities, through to applying, building partnerships and managing a funded project.

  • check whether your idea fits the scope of a call
  • prepare project outlines and proposal drafts

  • find international partners or join a consortium
  • access brokerage events and matchmaking opportunities
  • understand Horizon Europe rules, including lump sums, Open Science, intellectual property and gender equality requirements
  • manage funded projects once a grant has been awarded.
